Tips For Holding A Special Event At A Cigar Bar

If you're looking for a unique place to hold an adults-only special event, consider a cigar bar. Depending on the size of the bar and your guest list, you can either rent out a portion of the space or the entire venue. If the bar is large, it may offer one or more private event spaces you can book for use.

For events that take place during the busier times of the year, such as the summer months or the winter holiday season, you will want to reserve the cigar bar space as far in advance as possible. If you expect some out-of-town guests, make sure there are living accommodations available nearby as well.

A cigar bar makes a fun and intimate venue for a wide range of special events and occasions, such as adult birthday parties, family and corporate holiday get-togethers, bridal showers, college graduation and anniversary soirees, and wedding receptions. If the celebrants are cigar aficionados, the bar will give the event a personalized touch.

Here are some additional tips for holding a party in a cigar bar:

1. Decide on the Event Space

If you are hosting a small gathering of close friends and family members, a cozy sitting room off of the bar may be the ideal option for you. Cigar bars typically feature sophisticated spaces filled with leather and wood furniture, mood lighting, and plenty of room for guests to mix and mingle. Some may also feature cozy fireplaces for use during the colder months.

Larger cigar bars may also offer conference rooms for bigger gatherings, such as weddings. Since the conference rooms are often used for work meetings and events, they'll generally feature long tables with plenty of plush seating elements, as well as audio/visual capabilities.

Another option is renting out the entire cigar bar for a few hours if you want complete privacy. This would allow guests to move around the bar as they wish, sampling different cigars, drinks, and appetizers if you're providing them.

2. Create a Menu

Although cigar bars will keep the smokers in the crowd satisfied with their vast offerings, decide if you want to provide food and beverages as well. Some ideas include gourmet cheese, meat, crackers, fresh fruit, assorted small plates, and appetizer spreads. Cigar bars may also offer onsite cocktails and other drinks.

Depending on your event planning budget, you can either make the food yourself and bring it to the bar, or have the party catered by a local caterer or your favorite eatery.
